How much is a Creative Coffin?

Please call us on 01481 714820 or email us at post@creativecoffins.com and we can give you full details of cost, please remember to tell us where you are or where the funeral is to be held, so that we can include delivery.

As a rough guide, Creative Coffins are similar in cost to a mid-priced traditional wooden coffin.

How do I order one?

We would recommend using a Funeral Director but you can purchase a coffin from us direct if you prefer, please see below for your options.

How do I order a Creative Coffin through my Funeral Director?

We already deal with a large number of funeral service providers and would be happy to liaise with your chosen director and arrange your purchase through them. Simply contact us with your requirements and their details and we’ll organise it with them.

What do I do if my chosen Funeral Director doesn’t stock your coffins?

All of our coffins are made to order so aren’t held in stock by anyone, but we are happy to supply to any Funeral Director and can deliver very quickly.

If your Funeral Director is simply unfamiliar with Creative Coffins, don’t be put off! Picture and personalised coffins are still relatively new to some of the funeral trade but they are there to help fulfil your wishes and if that includes a Creative Coffin then please ask them to contact us and we will arrange everything with them.

Regardless of what type of funeral you would like, there is a Creative Coffin to suit and they are all made to order and delivered within three days which is usually plenty of time for most funerals. However, if you require one earlier, you or your Funeral Director can contact us and we will advise you if we can provide it sooner.

I am organising a funeral without a Funeral Director can I order a Creative Coffin?

Most people find it easier to use a Funeral Director but if you are making the arrangements yourself then we will do all we can to help you.

In the first instance, please contact us and we’ll advise you of the information you’ll require to purchase a coffin suitable for your needs.

I’m planning my own funeral, how can I incorporate a Creative Coffin?

If you have selected the Creative Coffin you would like you can do any of the following:

If you don’t wish to make a formal funeral plan, simply print out our Wish List, fill it in and leave it with your papers.

If you want to incorporate a Creative Coffin into a pre-paid funeral plan, speak to your funeral plan company or funeral director who should be able to include it. If they cannot, or if you would like information on a recommended plan, please contact us and we can supply details of plans guaranteed to include a Creative Coffin.

When you speak to your funeral planner, be sure to specify that it is a ‘Creative Coffin’ that you want and also specify the name of the design. We will then co-ordinate your wishes directly with them.

If you would like a completely new design:

Please contact us and one of our advisers will discuss your ideas with our creative studio to translate them into a beautiful design.

They will then liaise with your funeral planner with regards to the practical and technical details of your coffin purchase.

All of our beautiful designs are available in both cardboard and wood so which should you choose?

Some people prefer the greener credentials of our cardboard coffins, whilst others favour the more solid outlines of our wooden options. Every one is designed and manufactured to the same high standards so it’s really down to personal preference, though there are circumstances under which one option may be the better choice.

Whilst green burials grounds will request that you use cardboard, a small minority of crematoria prefer not to accept them, so wood would be the preferred option.

Size can matter and our cardboard coffins currently only come in one standard size but the wood versions have a range of standard sizes as well as the option of other sizes made to order.

If you aren’t sure which is the better option for you, please email us or call our friendly advisers who’ll be happy to help you.

Is anything possible?

Virtually anything is possible. Our resources include a vast photo library and we have always been able to provide images to match our clients‘ requirements. Please bear in mind though that company and sports club logos and images such as cartoon characters, may be subject to copyright and require the relevant permission. Nevertheless, we have found most organisations to be very understanding.

Whatever your vision, you can be confident that our team will produce a wonderful design, that you’ll be delighted with.

What exactly is included in the ‘free personalisation’?

All coffins should include a name and most Funeral Directors and crematoria prefer dates and age to be detailed somewhere on the coffin. Rather than have a plate affixed which may not fit in with your chosen design, our creative team will cleverly incorporate these details, at no extra cost.

How long does it take for a Creative Coffin to be delivered?

All of the standard designs are available within a turnaround of 3 working days*.

Most custom coffins can also be delivered within the same timescale, however in the case of complex designs and personal coffins where we need to scan photographs for example, another day would be preferred. However, if you have an imminent funeral, please contact us and we’ll let you know if we can deliver earlier.

*Deliveries to Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and Channel Islands may take longer, please contact us for details.

How do I arrange a funeral and what does it cost?

When it comes to arranging a funeral, we would recommend using a funeral director as they will help guide you through the process at what is a difficult and emotional time. If you don’t have a funeral director that comes recommended to you, then we can supply you with details of some in your area. We suggest you contact two or three to ensure you find one that you are confident will be able to fulfil all of your wishes, at a price you are comfortable with.

Most funeral directors are members of either the NAFD (National Association of Funeral Directors) or SAIF (National Society of Allied & Independent Funeral Directors). Members of these trade associations will provide you with a price list and quotation on request. Once you have agreed the details you can request a written estimate and the funeral director will not charge you more unless you give them permission. If the funeral director you have chosen is unfamiliar with Creative Coffins, we would be happy to speak to them, advise them of the costs and arrange your purchase through them.
